Local CANSA Relayers part of Core Leadership Team of Global Heroes of Hope programme
We’re excited to announce that Global Hero of Hope (Survivor), Freda Botha from Gqeberha, has been appointed to the Core Leadership Team of the Global Heroes of Hope programme. Core members actively participate in engagement opportunities created by the Global Relay For Life staff, the leadership team, or from the American Cancer Society’s Global Cancer Control. They’re responsible for the annual process of nominating and selecting new Global Hero members, as well as for onboarding and training both new and existing members. Many of you know that Freda was one of the two Regional Leads for Africa (includes South Africa) and we’re so grateful to her for the dedication, nurturing and mentorship that she has given all our Global Heroes. Congratulations to her and we’re proud to see the South African and CANSA flag flying high globally.
And that means more good news. Freda makes way for a new Regional Lead for South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe and we’re honoured to add that Global Hero of Hope (Caregiver) Marlene Jordaan from Gauteng is stepping up into this role. We’re so pleased that she is keen to mentor, guide and dedicate her services to our Global Heroes in South Africa. Our congratulations to Marlene who is now part of the Regional Leads Team for our Global Heroes programme.
