Third time lucky for Ladybrand

ladybrandLADYBRAND – Piñatas were slammed at this year’s CANSA Relay For Life Ladybrand as a sign of fighting back against cancer, with 30 survivors who came and were supported during this exciting event.

The Survivors’ and Caregivers Laps celebrated life and provided a unique opportunity to each person present to reflect on their cancer journey.

The Luminaria Ceremony united the CANSA Relayers as they reflected and remembered the lives of loved ones, as they stood next to their specially decorated luminaria bags.

The 17 teams were challenged to build Piñatas and to present it during the Fight Back Ceremony. The CANSA Relay teams enjoyed the session, as they could all observe the unique and creative designs.

This proved to be a good team-building exercise for each of the teams and a spirit of unity highlighted this successful initiative.

The Closing Ceremony concluded the CANSA Relay For Life Ladybrand on a high note as prizes were handed out for the best- dressed team, best banner, best stall, etc. There were also prizes for winners of all the activities that the committee planned for during the night. The variety in the food-stalls kept all of the teams happy and excited throughout the night.

The highlight of the event was the commitment that the jovial CANSA Relayers showed staying to the very end. The excitement and entertainment from the dancing and prayers, kept everyone awake and enthralled.
